Moose Division Rivals Drop Puck on Season Openers

Four of the County Moose North Division rivals in the American-based National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) were in action last night (Sept. 11).

All four North Division rivals were at home to open their season. The Woodstock Slammers lost in overtime, while the CT North Chiefs (Biddeford, Maine), Lewiston Maineiacs and Universel Quebec squads lost in regulation time.

Results from the North Division squads from Sept. 11 are as follows:

Thunder Hockey Club – 4 @ Woodstock Slammers – 3 (Overtime Loss)
Boston Dogs – 5 @ CT North Chiefs – 1
Islander Hockey Club – 2 @ Lewiston Maineiacs – 1
New York Dynamo – 4 @ Universel Quebec – 1

I have been immersed in sport since my elementary school days. Throughout my life I have played baseball, basketball, cross country, rugby. soccer, squash, team handball, track and field and volleyball. For some reason, pickleball and I have not made an acquaintance yet (I was holding out thinking it was a fad, but it’s here to stay). It is my belief life should shut down for two weeks during The Olympics so people can revel in sports. I am an avid sports fan who actively follows the Raptors, Blue Jays and the Canadian national basketball, swimming and rugby teams. I have switched my soccer allegiance to Wrexham, because the story of the club’s rise is just too good of a fairy tale to ignore.
